OVERVIEW
This is the band’s third studio album. They’re a Canadian hard rock band. It’s interesting to note that they’ve been around since 1992, but I had not heard of them at all until now.
They definitely mix up a lot of different things in their style. The hard rock side is definitely on display, but there is a very poppy thing to their sound.
Overall an enjoyable album to listen.
HIGHLIGHTS :
Break, Lost In You, Someone Who Cares, Bully, Goin’ Down
PLAY BY PLAY
Track 1 – Bitter Taste
Cool sound. Definitely hard rock with a hint of metal.
Track 2 – Break
Cool track. Lot’s of cool stuff going for this track. I really like the syncopations in this track. Catchy too.
Track 3 – World So Cold
Again, there’s a hint of metal in this track. This is more like mellow modern metal than hard rock.
Track 4 – Lost In You
This is a very nice mid tempo pop track. There is nothing rock or metal about this song.
Track 5 – The Good Life
This song reminds me of another song, but can’t remember it right now. Cool tune though.
Track 6 – No More
Not bad. Not much else to say about this one.
Track 7 – Last to Know
This song just flat out doesn’t cut it in my book. The arrangement does not work. In fact, this should have been just left off the whole record.
Track 8 – Someone Who Cares
Cool track. It starts well, but the section before the first chorus doesn’t really work for me.
Track 9 – Bully
Very cool track!
Track 10 – Without You
Great guitar solo!
Track 11 – Goin’ Down
Cool track.
Track 12 – Life Starts Now
I would say this track falls into the pop/metal category. Very mellow. Cool track.
