Artist: Rob Thomas
Album: Cradlesong (2009 Atlantic / Warner Music Group)
Tracks: 14 + 2 German Bonus tracks

Artist website: http://www.robthomasmusic.com

OVERVIEW:

Rob Thomas rose to fame as the frontman of Matchbox 20. This is his second solo effort. The album is essentially a pop album with rock stylings. The songs are exactly what one would expect from a Rob Thomas album. Predictable.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Fire On The Mountain, Still Ain’t Over You, Snowblind

PLAY BY PLAY

Track 1 – Her Diamonds
Very cool groove and nice melody.

Track 2 – Gasoline
Meh. Not the most solid song.

Track 3 – Give Me The Metldown
Very catchy! Cool track.

Track 4 – Someday
Very good groove. Lot’s of space for the vocals and the vocals are woven in very nicely.

Track 5 – Mockingbird
Easy singalong chorus.

Track 6 – Real World ’09
This one’s a cool track. It has a great vibe and good arrangement.

Track 7 – Fire On The Mountain
This track has a really interesting vibe. It’s also totally different and unexpected. Awesome track!

Track 8 – Hard On You
Cute song.

Track 9 – Still Ain’t Over You
We liked this. Strong melody, good groove, good arrangement.

Track 10 – Natural
This song bored us. It didn’t go anywhere.

Track 11 – Snowblind
This is a really nice song. Great melody and chords! Good arrangement.

Track 12 –Wonderful
Did not like.

Track 13 – Cradlesong
Meh – boring

Track 14  – Getting Late
A total filler track that doesn’t belong in this album. This should have been saved for Rob when he wants to reinvent himself as a country artist.

Track 15 – Years From Now (German Bonus Track)
This should have had the same fate as proposed in the comments to track #14.

Track 16 – Remembered Well (German Bonus Track)
This should have had the same fate as proposed in the comments to track #14.
