OVERVIEW

This is the 25th studio album for country music legend Reba McEntire. The album has lots of variety. Lots of surprises. See notes below to know what I thought of the tracks.

I liked the first seven tracks of the album. Don’t really know what happened to the album after that.

HIGHLIGHTS

Just When I Thought I’d Stopped Loving You, I Want a Cowboy, Consider Me Gone, I’ll Have What She’s Having

PLAY BY PLAY :

Track 1 – Strange
Awesome opening track. Good energy.

Track 2 – Just When I Thought I’d Stopped Loving You
This song has a very interesting vibe. There are moments when it could almost be paralleled with the vibe of a modern R&B track. Especially in the verses.

Track 3 – I Keep On Lovin’ You
Back to Nashville. Nice mellow track.

Track 4 – I Want a Cowboy
More of a rock song. Nice! Very cool riffs.

Track 5 – Consider Me Gone
Very cool groove.

Track 6 – But Why
The token ballad. Not that special.

Track 7 – Pink Guitar
Cool track.

Track 8 – She’s Turning 50 Today
I couldn’t get into this track. Probably a track that is really aimed at the age group alluded to in the title of this track.

Track 9 – Eight Crazy Hours (In the Story of Love)
Way too mellow and sad for my liking.

Track 10 – Nothin’ to Lose
Cool track. It’s got that old school train-like feel to it.

Track 11 – Over You
A bit on the whiny side for me.

Track 12 – Maggie Creek Road
Not a strong track. Could have possibly been left off the album.

Track 13 – I’ll Have What She’s Having
Really cool old school track! A true highlight among the tracks of this album.
