OVERVIEW
Queensrÿche are back with another concept album. This time singer Geoff Tate takes on the complicated topic of war and it is told from a firsthand perspective. Tate interviewed many war veterans so he could get a better grasp of how to tell the story.
The music is very melodic and it sounds huge. Every song sounds majestic and commanding. Queensrÿche seem to be at their best when they are tackling a concept piece. Great effort!

Track 1 – Silver
Very cool opening track. It definitely sets the pace and tone for the record.
Track 2 – Unafraid
This is an interesting piece that seems to use sound bytes from interviews.
Track 3 – Hundred Mile Stare
This sounds huge.
Track 4 – At 30,000 Feet
This one was a bit “meh”.
Track 5 – A Dead Man’s Words
Good groove and interesting harmonic choices.
Track 6 – The Killer
This one is very good! Great melodies.
Track 7 – Middle of Hell
This one is pretty. Very cool song and lots of dynamics!
Track 8 – If I Were King
Wow! This is such a great song. So much emotion!
Track 9 – Man Down!
Brutal but sophisticated in an orchestral way.
Track 10 – Remember Me
Very pretty. Wonderful lyrically and in the use of those interview sound bytes.
Track 11 – Home Again
Nice duet.
Track 12 – The Voice
What a way to close out this album! Absolutely amazing and big sounding! Majestic.
