REVIEW OVERVIEW

This is Overkill’s 15th full-length album. What a fantastic album from these veterans of the metal world!

This album is incredibly energetic, musical, heavy, and well thought out. This is definitely an old school thrash album that doesn’t show any signs of being old or passe. It sounds fresh and interesting.

It is also worth noting that the songs are long. This is not your average bite size metal. These songs really take a listener along for a ride!

If you are a fan of metal, you owe it to yourself to check out this album and the back catalog of Overkill. If you are a fan of old school Metallica and have never heard this band, you may want to check these guys out.

HIGHLIGHTS :

There really isn’t a bad track among these tracks.

The guitar solo from Ironbound is worthy of a highlight note.

PLAY BY PLAY REVIEW

Track 1 – The Green and Black
What an opening track!

Track 2 – Ironbound
This is a very strong title track! It’s good to hear an artist that has penned a track that is worthy of also being the title of an album in times when the art of making an album is fading away.

Track 3 – Bring Me the Night
Cool track! Heavy and fast.

Track 4 – The Goal Is Your Soul
Very cool track.

Track 5 – Give a Little
If this doesn’t get your adrenalin going, you’re probably not alive!

Track 6 – Endless War
Good track.

Track 7 – The Head and Heart
This is a tour de force performance! It’s dynamic and at the same time very metal.

Track 8 –  In Vain
Crushing!

Track 9 –  Killing for a Living
This is a really heavy track. Not my favorite but it is a strong track.

Track 10 – The S.R.C.
Awesome track! This is such an energetic track to seal the album.
