OVERVIEW

Metallica are a band that hardly need an introduction. So we’ll keep this short and say what everyone else has said: “This is the back to form album that fans have waited for since Load”.  We’d like to thank Rick Rubin for putting the “metal” back in Metallica.

HIGHLIGHTS

The End of the Line, The Day That Never Comes, All Nightmare Long,

PLAY BY PLAY

Track 1 – That Was Just Your Life
All that we will say is “HELL YES!”

Track 2 – The End of the Line
Can I get a “Hell YEAH!”? HELL YEAH!

Track 3 – Broken, Beath & Scarred
Brutal and dark. Very good.

Track 4 – The Day That Never Comes
This just affirms that Metallica are still capable of writing great emotional songs.

Track 5 – All Nightmare Long
Brutal, powerful, and just amazing!

Track 6 – Cyanide
We can’t stop grinning! Stunning and brutal, just the way we like it.

Track 7 – The Unforgiven III
Not bad. This has been milked enough already! We don’t need an Unforgiven IV on the next album, ok?

Track 8 – The Judas Kiss
This isn’t as strong as the other songs. It’s St. Angeresque.

Track 9 – Suicide & Redemption
For an instrumental track, this is very weak. It sounds more like an unfinished song. There are some nice moments in it but it lacks compositional elements that would make it stronger.

Track 10 – My Apocalypse
Very strong! It has old school Metallica elements mixed in with some of that raw energy that St. Anger had.
