OVERVIEW
Dark Harvest are a progressive rock/metal power trio hailing from Iceland. They are currently an unsigned band, releasing material on their own.
All the material is instrumental. This is a really well produced album. The sound quality is great and the mix is balanced. The musicianship is superb.
I’m surprised this band is still unsigned! They deserve to have legions of fans world wide with this kind of music! I can’t wait to hear the next album.
HIGHLIGHTS:
The whole album is superb! Especially: Sunny Valentino, Maddman, and Fast Train
PLAY BY PLAY
Track 1 – Beyond The Stars
Awesome track to start things off.
Track 2 – Sunny Valentino
Very cool! I’ll have to learn to play this myself.
Track 3 – Blues For Bubba
Interesting take on a blues. Very cool uptempo track.
Track 4 – East Meets West
This is great! Very strong motifs here.
Track 5 – Sambalavista
Interesting ideas here. I felt there could be a bit more development to be done with this track for stronger themes and focused execution of these ideas.
Track 6 – Maddman
Very cool track. Great moments in this track and a really beautiful melody!
Track 7 – Dark Harvest
Heavy! I like it!
Track 8 – Fast Train
Really awesome!
Track 9 – Absolutely
A bit on the repetitive side.
Track 10 – Dark Xmas
Very pretty, but really repetitive.
