OVERVIEW

Evangelion is the ninth full-length album from Polish metal band Behemoth. I would venture to say that this is a concept album.

This is high energy material. Right from the opening moments of the album, there is no doubt about what the listener is in for. I had never heard a single note from this band until I sat down to review this album. Now I must try to get my hands on some of the band’s previous work in order to hear what else they’ve done.

Very good effort!

HIGHLIGHTS :

Ov Fire and the Void, Transmigrating Beyond Realms Ov Amenti, Lucifer

PLAY BY PLAY

Track 1 – Daimonos
Fast and very heavy. Interesting vocal work. Not quite singing but arranged in a very singable way. Very impressive guitar and drum work here.

Track 2 – Shemhamforash
How does the drummer play such blast beats!?! Cool track. I would love to see Zbigniew Robert “Inferno” Promiński and Joey Jordison drum together.

Track 3 – Ov Fire and the Void
Powerful and a bit slower. A little less cluttered than the two first tracks.

Track 4 – Transmigrating Beyond Realms Ov Amenti
Wow!

Track 5 – He Who Breeds Pestilence
I didn’t like this track.

Track 6 – The Seed ov I
Interesting.

Track 7 – Alas, The Lord Is Upon Me
Cool track.

Track 8 – Defiling Morality Ov Black God
Too cluttered.

Track 9 – Lucifer
Powerful. Epic.
