Album: Exile Republic (2008 Marion Records)
Tracks: 10

OVERVIEW:

Atomstation are a band from Iceland. The music is definitely hard rock and very fun to listen to. The guitar work is very good. The vocals could have been clearer and not so muddy or overshadowed in the mix in my opinion.

A really great effort in my opinion! This is going in my personal ipod for sure. Pick up this album and ask for radio to play it if your local stations have it.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Mace, Bugchasers, Dramaoverdose, Killed My Jesus

PLAY BY PLAY

Track 1 – Credo
Good opening track. Very catchy and energetic.

Track 2 – Mace
This track has a hint of Stone Temple Pilots in it. Cool track.

Track 3 – Think No
Cool track. Catchy. This one has a bit of a punk influence to it. (Very slight, call me crazy, but I hear it.)

Track 4 – Bugchasers
This one had me headbaning from the first chord. A bit more mellow but very tight.

Track 5 – Dramaoverdose
Awesome song! Energetic. Good riff. Good groove. What’s not to like.

Track 6 – Kill Us All
Cool use of stop time! Very nice contrasts between mellow and heavy moments.

Track 7 – Killed My Jesus
Very cool groove and riffs!

Track 8 – Bloodline
I liked this too. Kinda Velvet Revolver like.

Track 9 – Keelhauled
Heavier and faster than the other tracks. Not as strong as the other tracks but ok.

Track 10 – Lifetime
Aha, here’s the token ballad (or as close to a ballad as it seems you’ll get from this band). Pretty good.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

A big thanks to the band for sending us the CD! We really appreciate it.
