OVERVIEW

This is the latest release for British singer-songwriter, Olivia Broadfield. The material is delicate in sound for the most part. I would have liked a bit more variety in the sound. The music gets very repetitive, quickly.

This isn’t my cup of tea. However, I know a lot of people who like this kind of music. If you are into female vocals that are delicate and the music is delicate then this is something you need to check out.

HIGHLIGHTS :

Holding Onto You, Probably Nothing, Crashing Down

PLAY BY PLAY

Track 1 – Weight
Cute song. Floaty and light but not in the ambient and overly mellow sense.

Track 2 – Don’t Cry
Cool retro type sound due to the Rhodes/Wurlizer (not sure which) sound. The melody sounds borrowed though.

Track 3 – Indescribable
Mellow. (Maybe a bit too mellow.)

Track 4 – Holding Onto You
Cool track! I liked the feel on this one. Not as delicate as the others thus far.

Track 5 – Hang On
Another floaty song.

Track 6 – Lost In You
Interesting.

Track 7 – Safe
Mellow, again.

Track 8 – Probably Nothing
I really liked the groove in this one. (Though I wished it was a bit more “in your face”)

Track 9 – Don’t Let Go
Didn’t like this one at all.

Track 10 – Silence
Didn’t like this one either.

Track 11 – Eyes Wide Open
This reminds me of some song from the 1980’s. Can’t remember which song, but the feel is very similar as is the melody.

Track 12 – Save Me
This track also reminds me of a song from the 80’s.

Track 13 – Crashing Down
Cool track. Even if it is really repetitive, it’s got some interesting ideas.
