REVIEW OVERVIEW
This is the eleventh studio album from this Virginia thrash band, GWAR.
We really enjoyed this album. It has great energy from start to finish. The band grooves and delivers their brand of metal in spades. If you have never heard of GWAR, this is not a bad place to start as there isn’t a bad track on here.
All the performances, instrumental or vocals, are great on this album. The production is very solid. There is nothing I can think of complaining about even on that front.
All in all a stellar effort!

Track 1 – Lust in Space
Great opening track. Very good energy.
Track 2 – Let Us Slay
Heavy! It has a really good energy and groove about it. Catchy to boot!
Track 3 – Damnation Under God
Awesome track! This might be my favorite from the album. Just heavy and driving.
Track 4 – The UberKlaw
Another great track. Very catchy again with the group vocal thing.
Track 5 – Lords and Masters
This one has a punk feel to it. It’s almost like GWAR is paying homage to the Ramones here with a metal edge in the chorus. Awesome! Towards the end it totally shifts styles and is a lot more dramatic and theatrical in style.
Track 6 – Metal Metal Land
Cool track. This has a hint of The Offspring in the chorus.
Track 7 – The Price of Peace
Really cool driving riffing. Great energy and groove.
Track 8 – Where Is Zog?
I found myself chanting a long to this track. “Where is Zog?” Catchy and funny indeed.
Track 9 – Make a Child Cry
Nice and heavy. This track has more of a modern metal edge to it.
Track 10 – Release the Flies
This is probably the heaviest track on the album. Almost Opeth like black metal. Very cool track. This track also sports a really nice guitar solo section.
Track 11 – Parting Shot
For those of you old enough to remember, this track will make you want to revert yourselves into Beavis and Butt-head mode. “Huh-huh. Hey Beavis, this song is like cool.” On a more serious note, what a great way to close an album! Really dug this track.

Please do not be a disgruntled fan and send me hate mail for the comparisons I’ve made in this review. It’s just a comparison for people who are not familiar with what GWAR do and just how much ground they cover stylistically.
