REVIEW

It Might Get Loud was directed by Davis Guggenheim. If you are a guitar player, you owe it to yourself to see this film.

It is amazing how these three different guitar players come together to talk about their use and vision of the instrument. Watching them play is worth the price of the DVD alone.

The documentary also takes the viewer back to each guitarist’s roots. It is also interesting to see where each one came from and how they ended up picking up the instrument.

It is probably the best 98 minutes I have spent in a long time.

There are moments where it does feel a bit disjointed. But on the whole, the film manages to stay on track. I wish they would have spent a bit more time actually discussing gear and detailed preferences as opposed to the history and inspiration. However, the film was not made with guitar players in mind primarily.

DELETED SCENES

The deleted scenes are great. I really wish some of them would have been kept in.

Most interesting was the press conference from the Toronto Film Festival. I really enjoyed it. This in an of itself is worth the price of the DVD alone.

This is a must have for guitarists. Whether you are a player or a lover of the instrument, you must see this.
