OVERVIEW:

In the world of guitar, Paul Gilbert is a king and needs no introduction. In the event that you are not a guitar enthusiast, here’s a short introduction. Mr. Gilbert was one of the original members of Mr. Big and Racer X. He has been hailed as one of the fastest guitar players on the planet. He’s insanely talented not only as a guitarist but also as a musician, songwriter, and producer.

It is always a pleasure to listen to Paul’s music. If you don’t already own this, you should.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Eudaimonia Overture, Norwegian Cowbell, I Cannot Tell A Lie, Suite Modale

PLAY BY PLAY

Track 1 – Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar
Very pretty.

Track 2 – Eudaimonia Overture
Very anthemic! Nice! Really pretty melody.

Track 3 – The Rhino
Cool rock song! Very articulate.

Track 4 – Norwegian Cowbell
Wow!

Track 5 – I Cannot Tell A Lie
Very pretty! Such a strong melody that is articulated well. There is such a strong vocal/singing quality to Paul’s playing!

Track 6 – Bronx 1971
Funky!

Track 7 – Suite Modale
Sublime! How does Paul do this?

Track 8 – The Gargoyle
I must confess that at this stage of the album I’ve heard too many swept arpeggios. This is still amazing music and played at an amazing level.

Track 9 – I Still Have That Other Girl
Beautiful!

Track 10 – Bultaco Saturno
Cool track. I really loved the main theme!

Track 11 – Paul Vs. Godzilla
Great! Gotta love the groove!
