OVERVIEW

This is the sixth solo album from Mark Knopfler. This is an earthy album. The music is gentle and delicate; yet, powerful in its own way. Soulful would be a perfect description. The music on this album is words away from Knopfler’s Dire Straits days.

Having only heard Knopfler in the context of his previous band and not at all as a solo artist, this album was a total surprise for me. I was expecting something quite different. It was a happy surprise for me.

If you’re looking to chill out with some great music, this is a great album for doing just that.
